Boys Varsity Wrestling · Redhawk Wrestling Season Ends at Eastside

Going in to this season with a new coach and with a lot of new faces, the Redhawk Wrestling team had an uphill battle ahead. Coach Strait and the boys were up for the challenge as they competed at a high level throughout the season. Some narrow losses to region foes York and South Pointe earned the Redhawks a 3rd seed in the region and a road trip to Eastside for the 1st and 2nd Round of the State Playoffs. This would mark the 4th year in a row the Redhawks qualified for the State Playoffs and they would quickly flex their muscles against the 2nd seeded Pickens Blue Flame in the 1st round of the playoffs. After dismantling the Blue Flame on Saturday, the Redhawks would face the #1 team in 4A and probably one of the best in the entire state regardless of classification. The Eagles of Eastside would quickly take care of the Redhawks ending their season.

The Redhawks now will move on to the Upstate 4A Individual Qualifiers on February 18th to be held at Eastside. The Redhawks will be sending 9 wrestlers to this qualifier to see who can advance to the State Championships. Congrats to our wrestling team on a great season!
