Redhawks News · Redhawks Sweep Timberwolves

Last night our Redhawks were back in action on the road at White Knoll. The girls got off to a slow start only to get heated up and ran away from the Timberwolves for a final score of 79-47. For the third time this year Nyah Leveretter recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots. Unique Drake and Maliyah Lockett would both add double-doubles as Drake poured in 23 points and 10 assists, while Lockett would add 11 points and 10 rebounds. Mya Belton and Ja’Maria Frederick would get in the double digit column with 13 and 10 respectively. The Redhawks will play in the Cardinal Newman showcase on Saturday afternoon with the tip off set for 4pm.

In the boys game, the Redhawks had to shake off a cold shooting night with pressure defense in the second half to pull away for a 56-53 victory. Russell Jones Jr. led all scorers with 18 points while Ta’Jay Dunlap dropped 14 points. Kendall Wormack finished with 9 points and put the Redhawks in the lead for good with his basket with 1:30 to go in the game. The Redhawks now will face Hammond at the Charlotte Spectrum Center on Monday and then participate in the North Augusta Christmas Tournament later next week.
