Redhawks News · Boys Cross Country Season Wrap-Up


The Westwood Boy’s Cross Country team performed well this season bringing home numerous accolades.  The team started the season off well winning the Battle of Camden in August.  They continued their season preforming well in the Mike Moore Lake Murray Invitational and winning the Koala Classic in October.  The team won the first ever Region III 4A Championship in school history with Paul McCants, Jordan Alexander-Coleman, and David Nelson making the All-Region team and Coach Brice Mann being named the Region III 4A Coach of the Year.  After their region win the boys traveled to the upper state championship where they placed 6th earning a spot to compete in the State Meet November 3rd.  The boys ran well at state placing 14th overall among 4A schools with senior, Paul McCants placing 13th over all.  McCants also earned a place on the All-State team as well as an opportunity to participate on the Shrine Bowl Cross Country team.    Congratulations to the team on a great season!
