Redhawks News · Volleyball Post Season Wrap Up


The 2018 season was another successful season for the Westwood Volleyball team.  The team finished regular season play with an overall record of 16-8.  The team’s 9 wins and 1 loss in region play allowed them to repeat as Region III 4A Champions for the second year in a row.  The region win provided the team with a first round playoff bye and a home game hosting Daniel for the second round of playoffs.  The team lost a hard fought battle to the Daniel High School Lions 3 sets to 2 October 30th.  In addition to the team’s honors several individual awards were also accrued this season.  Coach Ciji VanTyne was named Region III 4A Coach of the Year for the second season in a row and players Ta’Naya Corley, Nala Wilson, Nyah Leveretter, and Sydney Hill were all names to the 2018 All-Region team. Congratulates to the team and players for all of their hard work this season.
