Fall Sports got into full swing last week with Volleyball, Girls Tennis, and Cross Country all getting their seasons started.
VOLLEYBALL–started the season with a 5 set thrilling victory over AC Flora at The Castle. On Thursday they faced perennial power Lugoff-Elgin on the road but were defeated 3-0 in their first road match. This week the Redhawks will be at home vs Dreher on Tuesday and then back on the road at Irmo on Thursday.
CROSS COUNTRY–8th grader, Emma Ashley picked up where she left off last year by blowing away the field in her first race of the year as she begins her quest to improve on her 12th place State Championship finish last season as a 7th grader. The girls team fell Lugoff-Elgin in the dual meet. On the Boys side, Will Tyndall led from start to finish and his teammates finished strong with him as the boys defeated Lugoff-Elgin and Columbia in their first event of the year. This weekend both teams will compete at the Lake Murray Invitational held at Crooked Creek Park.
GIRLS TENNIS– The Redhawks led by the 1-2 punch of Seniors Kyndall Ragins and Meera Rogers defeated the Lugoff-Elgin Demons 4-2. Sarah Haeflinger and Kelsey Sharpe also picked up victories in the 1st match of the year. On Monday the Redhawks will take on AC Flora followed by another home match vs Dreher on Tuesday. Then on Thursday the Redhawks will travel to Irmo.
